While onlydns.com is a modern name, our operators and engineering team are the very people who built and operated Omnis Network for 26 years. Today, under Quantum Names, we bring that deep operational wisdom to deliver authoritative Anycast DNS without complexity, cloud bloat, or upsells.
The internet has changed dramatically since 2000, but the critical importance of reliable DNS has never wavered. Here is the story of how 26 years of hosting and domain infrastructure evolved into OnlyDNS.
For 26 continuous years, our founding team built and operated Omnis Network — a pioneering web hosting, registrar, and DNS provider that powered more than 100,000 customers worldwide.
When the web hosting operation of Omnis Network was acquired by JetHost, our core engineering and operations team chose to spin off the DNS and domain name infrastructure into an independent venture.
We founded Quantum Names as our parent company to focus exclusively on domain names and specialized DNS infrastructure — stripped of legacy hosting baggage and distraction.
OnlyDNS is our flagship authoritative DNS platform — built for modern developers, autonomous AI agents, and businesses who want fast, resilient Anycast DNS without vendor complexity.
We believe core internet infrastructure should be transparent, rock-solid, and completely free of artificial complexity.
You get all the advanced capabilities you expect from hyperscalers like AWS Route 53 or Cloudflare — 23 Tier 1 BGP Anycast POPs, automated DNSSEC key rotation, rapid Anycast propagation, RFC 2136 TSIG dynamic DNS, and full REST & MCP APIs — without wading through thousands of cloud console menus, complex IAM policies, or confusing billing equations.
Mega-cloud operators use DNS as a loss leader to lock you into their expensive compute, database, and CDN services. Legacy registrars spam you with email plans, website builders, and deceptive renewal add-ons. At OnlyDNS, Domain Names and DNS is the only thing we do. No popups, no dark patterns, and no sales pitches.
DNS is the foundation of every packet sent across the internet. Our team has weathered every era of DDoS escalation, protocol transition (IPv6, DNSSEC), and routing challenge. That deep experience translates directly into an Anycast architecture engineered for continuous resilience and extreme query throughput.
Whether you manage your records using our clean, modern web interface or automate hundreds of dynamic endpoints with our native Model Context Protocol (MCP) server, REST API, CLI, or RFC 2136 dynamic updates, OnlyDNS is engineered to get out of your way and let you work at machine speed.
Quantum Names is the parent company behind OnlyDNS, created by the original Omnis Network engineering team following the acquisition of the web hosting division by JetHost. With 26 years of domain registration and infrastructure pedigree, Quantum Names develops focused platforms dedicated to doing one thing exceptionally well.
By separating DNS and domain management from general web hosting, we ensure that our infrastructure investments, Anycast network expansions, and engineering support remain 100% dedicated to world-class authoritative DNS.
Join thousands of developers, sysadmins, and autonomous agent platforms who rely on OnlyDNS for fast, rock-solid global resolution.
